Set up your devices to use Olympus Cloud for scheduling, time tracking, and team communication. This guide covers Android phones, iPhones, kiosk tablets, smartwatches, VPN compatibility, and battery optimization.

Android Phone Setup
Installing the App
- Open Google Play Store
- Search for "Olympus Cloud Workforce"
- Tap Install
- Wait for the download and installation to complete
- Open the app
Initial Configuration
- Sign in with your email and password
- Grant permissions when prompted:
- Location: Required for geofenced clock-in (select "Allow while using the app")
- Notifications: Required for shift reminders and messages
- Camera: Optional, for profile photos and document scanning
- Enable biometric login (fingerprint or face) for faster access
- Set notification preferences:
- Shift reminders (recommended: 30 minutes before)
- Schedule changes (recommended: immediate)
- Message notifications (recommended: immediate)
- Time-off approvals (recommended: immediate)

Android may aggressively kill background apps to save battery. If you miss notifications or your clock-in location is inaccurate, disable battery optimization for Olympus Cloud. Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization > find Olympus Cloud > select Don't Optimize.
iPhone and iPad Setup
Installing the App
- Open the App Store
- Search for "Olympus Cloud Workforce"
- Tap Get to download
- Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password
- Open the app once installed
Initial Configuration
- Sign in with your email and password
- Grant permissions when prompted:
- Location: Select "While Using the App" (required for clock-in)
- Notifications: Tap "Allow" for shift alerts and messages
- Camera: Optional, for profile photos
- Enable Face ID or Touch ID for quick login
- Configure notification settings:

Android Kiosk Configuration
- Install Olympus Cloud from the Google Play Store
- Open the app and sign in with a kiosk admin account
- Go to App Settings > Kiosk Mode
- Enable Kiosk Mode
- Configure kiosk settings:
- PIN-based login: Employees enter their PIN to clock in
- Auto-logout timer: Returns to clock-in screen after inactivity (default: 30 seconds)
- Restrict navigation: Limits access to clock-in/out and schedule viewing
- Camera for photo verification: Optional selfie at clock-in
- Lock the tablet to Olympus Cloud:
- Go to Android Settings > Security > Screen Pinning
- Enable screen pinning
- Pin the Olympus Cloud app
iPad Kiosk Configuration
- Install Olympus Cloud from the App Store
- Open the app and sign in with a kiosk admin account
- Go to App Settings > Kiosk Mode
- Enable Kiosk Mode with the same options as Android
- Use Guided Access to lock the iPad to Olympus Cloud:
- Go to iPad Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access
- Enable Guided Access and set a passcode
- Open Olympus Cloud, then triple-click the side button to start Guided Access
For organizations with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, Olympus Cloud supports managed deployment through Apple Business Manager, Google Managed Play, and common MDM platforms including Jamf, VMware Workspace ONE, and Microsoft Intune. Troubleshooting
App Not Installing

- Disable any mock location apps (Android developer options)
- Restart location services by toggling location off and back on
Notifications Not Arriving
- Check in-app notification settings under Profile > Notifications
- Check device notification settings for Olympus Cloud
- Disable battery optimization for the app
- Ensure Do Not Disturb is not blocking notifications
